Prior to giving you a filling, the tooth is prepared by removing decay and cleaning the affected area to get rid of bacteria. The composite material is then placed in the tooth and is hardened using a special dental curing light. Once the filling has hardened, it is shaped and buffed to give the tooth a natural appearance. The composite is then polished to prevent wear and staining.
