Clear braces are a perfect option for those looking to subtly straighten their teeth without having to deal with metal wires, and we’re very proud to offer them at our Fairfield, CT dental office! In this blog post, we’ll go over what the benefits of clear braces are, along with the orthodontic issues that they are designed to treat.
Clear braces are removable clear aligners that gradually shift the position of your teeth over time without the use of metal wires. At Vayner Family Dentistry, we offer Invisalign and ClearCorrect clear braces so that our patients have different options to choose from!
Clear braces are ideal for those who have crooked teeth, gaps between their teeth, and other more basic orthodontic issues that would benefit from having aligners subtly shift them into proper positioning over time. They are not recommended for those with rotation issues, those with bridgework, or those who need to shift their teeth vertically. It’s best to consult with your dentist or orthodontist to decide which option is best for you, since every smile is unique!
During your consultation at Vayner Family Dentistry, we will take impressions of your teeth to create clear aligners that are perfect for your smile. Once you get fitted with your first aligners, you will wear them for the majority of the day, only removing them to brush and floss your teeth and to eat. Every two weeks, you will receive a new set of aligners that will further shift your teeth to the desired position.
It’s very important that you keep your aligners clean every single day, too, in order to maintain optimal oral health during the process. It typically takes about a year to eighteen months to complete the entire process, depending on your case.
