Do you wish to straighten your teeth, but are put off by the look and discomfort of metal wires and brackets? Our clear braces may be the perfect dental solution for you. At Jack Vayner, DDS, we are proud to offer both Invisalign and ClearCorrect braces to patients who are interested in perfecting their smile without “metal mouth.”
Invisalign aligners have been a preferred form of orthodontic treatment for many patients. Treatment with Invisalign does not involve the use of any wires or brackets. The procedure makes use of a set of clear aligners that are custom made for every patient and apply gradual force to shift the teeth into proper alignment. Interested in Invisalign? ClearCorrect is a virtually invisible way to align your teeth. ClearCorrect adjusters sit comfortably over your natural teeth and the aligners work by gradually shifting the position of your teeth, and over time, will set them to their correct alignment. One of the best perks of this type of alignment is that they can be removed while eating or cleaning your teeth! Don’t forget to clean your ClearCorrect adjusters too.
Once it has been determined that you are an ideal candidate for clear aligner therapy, we will take digital impressions of your teeth to prepare your custom treatment plan. These virtually invisible aligners can be used to correct underbites, overbites, and even close gaps between the teeth. The average orthodontic treatment time varies for each case depending upon the degree of misalignment. Our clear aligners are removable, and can be easily removed while eating and cleaning your teeth, giving you the flexibility to eat what you like. Schedule your appointment today!
Clear braces are a popular method of orthodontic treatment among teenagers and adults, as it is almost impossible to tell you are wearing. Unsure if clear braces are right for you? Contact our Fairfield dental office, and we will assist you with any questions you may have!
When you receive your first set of clear braces and begin wearing them, you will likely feel some soreness as your teeth adjust. It’s perfectly normal, and there are a few things you can do to ease the pain, like take over-the-counter pain medication, rinse with a warm saltwater solution, or apply dental wax on areas of the aligner that are causing the most soreness to help them fit comfortably. We also recommend putting new aligners in at night so your teeth can adjust while you sleep. Since Invisalign and ClearCorrect aligners are custom-designed to fit your smile, the soreness will go away relatively quickly, and you should feel used to wearing them in no time!
Wearing clear braces will add a few extra steps to your twice-daily oral care routine, but it only takes a few minutes each day to make sure that your clear braces stay as clear as possible. You will want to rinse them with cold water every time you take them out, as hot water can cause the aligner to become pliable and change shape. Then, soak them in a white vinegar, clear mouthwash, or clear liquid soap solution and use a toothbrush to scrub them afterward. After you have brushed your teeth and rinsed the aligner with cold water again, they are clean and ready to be worn!
Clear braces can stain, which is why it is important for patients to clean them every day. This is also one of the main reasons why eating and drinking liquids besides water while wearing clear braces is never recommended. The good news is, you will begin wearing a new set of clear aligners every two weeks, so if you notice that your current aligners are not quite as invisible as they used to be, you’re probably due to start wearing a new set of clear braces very shortly.
