DENTAL EXAMS
A dental exam is a simple meeting with your dentist. Your dentist will thoroughly assess your teeth, gums, and your overall oral health. Your need for a filling, tooth replacement, fluoride, or other procedures will also be discussed, and in most cases, a dental cleaning will take place.

DENTAL CLEANINGS
A dental cleaning is very simple and should only take a few minutes. We’ll remove any built-up plaque from your teeth and do our best to eradicate surface stains that regular teeth brushing has been unable to.
HOW DENTAL CLEANINGS AND DENTAL EXAMS HELP YOU
Without regular dental check-ups, your oral health can really suffer. Exams and cleanings not only help you understand your oral cancer and gum disease risk, they also help you avoid them completely. Your dentist will show you how to care for your oral health during the examination, and during the cleaning, they will remove as much plaque from your teeth as possible, helping you avoid any serious complications.

DENTAL EXAMS AND DENTAL CLEANINGS FAQ
How Often Should I Get a Dental Exam & Dental Cleaning?
It’s recommended that patients undergo an oral exam twice a year to help prevent cavities, tooth decay, and gum disease. Two exams are generally enough to ensure your mouth stays healthy. However, if you are experiencing periodontal issues, additional visits may be required.
What Should I Expect During an Oral Exam and Cleaning?
During your exam, a member of our team will ask about any medications you may be taking, and if you have any health issues. Next, we will perform an oral exam by assessing your teeth, gums, and jaw. During the exam, we will look for indications of cavities, tooth decay, or gum issues. If needed, we may take an X-Ray of your mouth to get a more in-depth look.
Next, we will clean your teeth with high-quality equipment to remove any plaque or tartar attached to your teeth and under the gum line. Then your teeth will be polished, and we will finish by discussing preventative measures you can take at home to improve or optimize your oral health.
